Mining is on a growth trajectory, and its importance for Finland is great. With growth, the importance of responsibility is also emphasized. The sustainable mining network served as a continuous discussion and cooperation forum for the mining industry and its stakeholders. It developed and tailored tools suitable for Finland in order to promote more responsible and sustainable mining operations and to utilize synergies between different industries and prevent conflicts. In the network’s vision, Finland develops into a pioneering country in sustainable mining, where the industry takes into account natural values, the cultural and social operating environment and other livelihoods. The current TSM Finland -concept is based as a continuance for the work of the network.
