Mining companies report their activities to multiple stakeholders – authorities, financiers, parent companies and owners. Because this information is dispersed across several sources, such as GRI reports, corporatelevel sustainability reporting and the authorities’ VAHTI database, the purpose of TSM reporting is to provide a unified, transparent and easily accessible overview of the state of the mining industry.

This section compiles sustainability data from mining companies dating back to 2014, based on a 60question reporting framework. Together, these data provide a comprehensive picture of Finnish mining operations: the scale of activities, workforce and land use, taxes paid, impacts on surrounding areas, occupational safety, and engagement with stakeholders.
